Trainee Accountant

Part Qualified Accountant, with experience working in an accountancy practice, required to work for Crunch Accounting; an innovative and revolutionising company.

For the first time, a chartered accountancy practice and a new media firm sit under one roof providing the latest online Web 2.0 Accountancy system that makes accounting for the time poor freelancer, literally child’s play.

We are now looking for an outstanding, part qualified, trainee Accountant who is AAT qualified or studying for an AAT qualification. This is a challenging position and is central to the success of Crunch. Our accountants are responsible for answering customers’ accountancy and tax queries, as well as working on customers’ accounts when the work or query falls outside the current capabilities of the Crunch software. This includes production of Year End accounts, calculation and filing of personal tax returns, payroll etc.

Key Activities:

• Answering queries taken by our Account Managers and someone to one advisory calls direct with customers.
• Working on customer’s accounts when the work, or query falls outside the current capabilities of the Crunch software, such as Pre Crunch Year End accounts, Payroll calculations and filing of self-assessments personal tax returns.
• Assisting in the testing and continued improvement of the Crunch software.
• Assisting in the development of back-end operational processes and procedures – including system user guides and help solutions.
• Keeping abreast of regulation changes and bringing them to the attention of the account management and development teams.
• Working with other team members involved in the service delivery to ensure high quality account management and customer service through use of the company CRM.

Person Specification:

• Experience working within an accounting practice and have knowledge of the following: Limited company accounts, Personal & Corporation Tax calculations, payroll, VAT calculations and general bookkeeping
• AAT qualified or studying for an ACCA qualification
• Experience working in an accountancy practice
• Excellent communication skills
• An interest in software applications
• Ability to work in a dynamic startup and entrepreneurial environment
• Knowledge and ability to use web based CRM systems; Salesforce

Location: Hove

Salary: Circa £18,000
