One of the most fun things about working at Crunch is constantly unearthing new groups of freelancers and contractors who use and love our service. Often it starts when one of them comes on board, tells a friend, who tells their friends, who tells their friends; before we know it we have a small community of industry cohorts all using our service.

We’ve recently seen an influx of freelancers working in media, the culprit being Production Base, a website for any and all freelancers working in film and TV production. After using our service they were kind enough to recommend us to all their members, who have been steadily signing up.

We thought we’d return the favour by sponsoring Production Base’s Freelancer of the Year awards, which were established to honour the unsung heroes of the British television, film and media production industries across the UK, and took place late last month in London.

The awards were hosted by journalist / presenter Matt Allwright of the BBC’s One Show and the main award, Outstanding Freelancers of the Year, was taken home by David Peat, who was recognised by the BBC for his outstanding work in documentary film-making. David is now enjoying a year of Crunch on us!
