Roll up, roll up. They might not be due until the end of January 2013, but we’re making an early start on Personal Self-Assessments this year for those who want to beat the rush. Our personal tax service is available as an optional extra to those with Complete or Max accounts.

Many people are happy doing their personal tax themselves, but we offer a low-cost service for those who don’t have time or simply don’t want the hassle.

Do I have to complete a Personal Self-Assessment?

Yes! If you are a Crunch client you are also the Director of a limited company, meaning you must submit a Personal Self-Assessment.

I’ve never done this before – where do I start?

Good question. We can do most of it for you, but the first part  – registering to submit a personal tax return – must be done by you personally.

To register telephone the Self-Assessment Helpline on 0845 900 0444. You will need to provide your National Insurance number and let them know you are a company director. If you are asked if you would like to register as an employer you can politely decline as we’ve already done this for you.

NoteHMRC’s phone service is notoriously terrible. The best time to call is Tuesday – Thursday between 9am and 4pm (excluding lunchtime).

Once you’ve registered with HMRC shoot your Account Manager an email and let them know you would like to use our personal tax service to get the ball rolling.

How much will this cost me?

We price our personal tax service on a sliding scale from £75 + VAT, increasing based on the complexities of your tax affairs.

Your account manager will be able to give you an exact price once they have all your details.
