Following our August client newsletter a fortnight ago an interesting disparity was brought to our attention. Our business partners feature in our newsletters, yet our clients themselves do not! Where there is an overlap in the services offered (which is bound to happen as we take on more and more diverse clientèle) this obviously puts our clients at a disadvantage.

After some pondering we’ve decided the best way address this imbalance is to give our clients exactly the same opportunity for promotion we afford our business partners – a dedicated slot in our newsletter.

From today we will be accepting pitches from businesses and individuals wanting to be included in our monthly newsletter, which goes to around 6,000 Crunch clients. This is a great opportunity to sell your services directly to an active, engaged and tech-savvy audience.

As with our business partners, we’ll be selecting people who can offer high-quality services beneficial to freelancers, contractors and micro-businesses – and we’ll be especially happy if you can offer some kind of special deal!

I want to pitch!

Great! You can get started by sending me an email with the subject line “Client newsletter pitch”, briefly outlining what you do, how your services can benefit your fellow Crunch clients, and a link to your website (if you have one).

Huge disclaimer

With thousands of clients on board we’re expecting to receive many more pitches than we can realistically publish, so we apologise in advance if your business is not selected. Don’t let that put you off though – pitch again the following month!

Update!

Thanks so much for all your interest – the Client Spotlight is now booked up for September, October and November! If you’ve got a special Christmas offer that you’d like to extend to Crunch clients, or something in mind for the New Year, drop us a line!

Community spirit

We love seeing our clients grow, and we’re always kicking around ideas to make the most of Crunch’s awesome community of freelancers, contractors and small businesses. Most recently some bright spark came up with the idea of a Crunch “Marketplace” – a client-only jobs board of sorts – which would sit within the Crunch app and allow the posting of job opportunities for fellow Crunch users.

We think this would be a great way to support our community, and restricting access to just clients would keep out the spam that usually litters freelance job boards.

Obviously you lot, our clients, would be using it, so we wanted to see if you think it would be a valuable addition to the Crunch system.

Would you be happy offering work to your fellow Crunch users? What features would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!
