About you

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team!

This role will collaborate with like-minded designers, our Product, Engineering and Marketing teams in a dynamic and supportive environment - to help distil the Crunch vision and understand not just the what but also the why, all whilst communicating these messages across functions so they are effectively conveyed to our clients.

Drawing on your visual, user interface and interaction design skills, you’ll be able to move from discovery to design with ease, effectively communicating our purpose, interaction, design metrics and motion to Engineering and Product teams, while also understanding the big picture. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the Crunch brand and how it resonates throughout our entire digital experience.

About the role

In this role, you will be:

Day to day

  • Working as a Product Designer within one or more Product teams to help deliver roadmap projects.
  • Using client insights and analytics throughout the user journey to validate end user problems and solutions throughout the product development process.
  • Confidently communicating Design options and presenting them in a visually impactful and exciting way, with hands-on involvement as well as guiding others to produce solutions.
  • Being an advocate and gatekeeper of the Crunch design guidelines company wide; whilst driving communication and promoting best practice approaches to Design and UX within Crunch, including embracing technological advances to enhance our user experience.
  • Working with Project or Product teams to define problems, products or ideas in design sprints, whilst working closely with all relevant stakeholders to bring the product vision to life.

Strategy

  • Researching external design trends to provide inspiration and help us to reinvent our platforms, in particular our website/app and internal intranet pages.
  • Gathering qualitative and quantitative user feedback through beta testing, insight and open forums, encouraging open feedback to enable us to constantly validate our designs to ensure they meet user needs and are adaptable to change.
  • Driving the ongoing maintenance of the component library with the Engineering team and developing the component library usage and refinement.
  • Seeking to understand all aspects of the business, its goals and growth aspirations and apply these insights to the deliverables agreed.

Communication

  • Facilitating design workshops, shaping the design principles of product roadmaps, coordinating consensus on priorities and communicating the ongoing holistic product roadmap plans and updates on Sprint activity to stakeholders.
  • Providing constructive feedback to the Engineering and Transformation & Product Teams regarding the overall Product Roadmap and plans for delivery, including Sprint activity.

The essentials:

  • Evidence of a portfolio of career projects and work relevant to the role.
  • Experience working with Scrum teams and agile product management methodology.
  • Awareness of the features of a ‘FinTech’ business and topical issues within the wider business landscape.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining a component library in conjunction with Engineering and Product teams.

The ‘nice to have’:

  • Degree or accredited qualification in a relevant discipline such as Product Design.
