About you

We’re seeking a Product Designer to join our Design Team!

This role will collaborate with like-minded designers, our Product, Engineering and Marketing teams in a dynamic and supportive environment - to help distil the Crunch vision and understand not just the what but also the why, all whilst communicating these messages across functions so they are effectively conveyed to our clients.

Drawing on your visual, user interface and interaction design skills, you’ll be able to move from discovery to design with ease, effectively communicating our purpose, interaction, design metrics and motion to Engineering and Product teams, while also understanding the big picture. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the Crunch brand and how it resonates throughout our entire digital experience.

About the role

In this role, you will be:

  • Helping to set the vision for the user experience of our products - creating beautiful but practical solutions, and promoting usability and accessibility for our clients.
  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of company-wide product initiatives, the company purpose and vision and department practice in order to deliver high quality design solutions.
  • Confidently communicating design options and presenting them to stakeholders & development teams  in a visually impactful and exciting format.
  • Evolving our design system and promoting a component-driven approach to building new features.
  • Investigating and exploring design best practices, ensuring Crunch keeps raising the bar with our standards.
  • Gathering user feedback through testing, insight and open forum, encouraging users to lead the way so we are constantly validating our designs to ensure they evolve and are adaptable to change.
  • Working with, coaching and mentoring other designers to ensure a common understanding of tasks and duties and consistent completion in accordance with our quality standards.
  • Working with stakeholders and other departments to ensure schedules and tasks are well-planned and communicated.
  • Actively participating in Scrum team processes and their use of Agile principles and methodology.

The essentials:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a mid-to-senior level Product Designer (or equivalent) role.
  • A portfolio of projects that showcase your design thinking & UI/UX skills.
  • Experience of using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD or Sketch.
  • Practical project lifecycle experience — in particular, working with Agile teams.

The ‘nice to have’:

  • HND or Degree in Product Design or similar relevant discipline.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills or even leadership experience would be welcome.
  • Front End development understanding and experience, including knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Experience working with remote and in particular nearshore Development teams.
