We have an exciting new permanent, full time Client Payroll Administrator in our Client Payroll team!
About the role:
Provide assistance to the Client Payroll Team in running and administering payroll for clients subscribed to Crunch payroll services.
Role responsibilities:
- Complete end to end processing of monthly payroll for Crunch payroll clients and their employees, provide an excellent service within deadlines and adhere to HMRC/Government regulations.
- Update and maintain payroll records in Xero, Moneysoft Payroll Manager system and the ‘back end’ of the Crunch system.
- Set up clients for Pension Auto Enrolment on the Nest system, and all tasks relating to this including uploading data.
- Assist with answering queries relating to our client’s payroll (current employees and leavers) via telephone and email in a timely manner and within the Crunch service level agreements.
- Complete general Payroll administration tasks, including but not limited to processing starters, leavers and producing P45 and P60 forms.
- Calculate holiday pay, sick pay, statutory payments and other payroll additions and deductions for our clients and their employees.
- Ensure that all Full Payment Submission (FPS) and Employer Payment Summary (EPS) tasks as part of Real Time Information (RTI) submissions are completed and filed on time.
- Ensure that Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns are completed and filed on time.
- Proactively managing tasks, client queries and team phone calls; whilst supporting the team during holiday periods, particularly during busy periods at month end and tax year end.
- Take part in regular data cleansing and correction, through limited auditing of client data to ensure accuracy of data, subscription charges and RTI information.
- Maintain a sound understanding of the Xero, Moneysoft Payroll Manager and Crunch payroll systems, updating this knowledge as new features become available and engaging in system testing for new features as required.
- Share ideas to support the continuous improvement of our client payroll services.
- Keep up to date with changes to payroll legislation or updates, complete any required training in order to upskill and develop knowledge and skills.
- Embrace the usage of the Hibob system, which is being used by Crunch to complete regular 121 and review conversations, and for setting and tracking company and department Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
About your skills and experience:
Essential:
- Strong Customer service background with proven ability to deliver great service.
- Payroll data processing experience. Working knowledge of using Xero and/or Moneysoft (Payroll Manager) or similar payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of legal and statutory requirements and entitlements in relation to pay, benefits and expenses.
- Experience of processing payments to contractors under the Government’s Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Awareness of the accountancy profession, in particular Payroll management and an interest in developing knowledge of all aspects of payroll administration.
- Proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office and previous experience of manual and automated payroll systems.
Desirable:
- Support towards a CIPP qualification (specifically Payroll Technician Certificate) will be provided as part of the role development if not already in progress.
- Working knowledge of Basic Tools and IR35 regulations.

Other information:
- This role is open to applicants with the right to live and work in the UK.

- The usual working hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30.
- You need to be able to work from home in a comfortable, private environment, with a solid internet connection (a minimum of 10-12 Mbps upload speed).
- We'll provide you with all the IT equipment you need to get set up before you start with us - so there's no need to supply your own.
- You would agree to visit our offices in the Brighton & Hove area on or before your first day to collect your IT equipment and attend a ‘Welcome to Crunch’ induction. This applies if you live within a reasonable travelling distance.
