About Crunch:

Crunch is a multi-award winning Software as a Service (SaaS) company born in the heart of Brighton with a brilliant team of 130, over 17,500 clients and 50,000 Crunch Chorus members. Together, we single-handedly pioneered a complete online accounting solution to empower self-employed contractors, freelancers and micro-businesses in the UK, helping them to grow their business and create the lives they want as part of a powerful community.

We have an exciting new full time, permanent Growth Marketing Manager role in our Marketing team!

About the role:

As a key member of our marketing team, this role is responsible for driving user acquisition, retention, and revenue growth through innovative and data-driven marketing strategies.

The primary objective of this role is to execute B2C marketing led initiatives to attract high volume sole trader and limited company customers and optimise more conversion using online channels. The secondary objective of this role is to reach these customers through partnership targeting with access to this audience.

Using a track record of successfully scaling customer acquisition channels, this role conveys a passion for digital marketing and analytics to help us deliver our ambitious growth plans.

Now we no longer have a large office base as we embrace remote-first ways of working. The role offers you the opportunity to work remotely all the time, or a mixture of office and remote working if you would prefer as we have some temporary office space in the Brighton & Hove area.

Please note that this although this is a remote role, you must have the right to live and work in the UK. Unfortunately we can't accept applications from candidates who are based overseas.

About You:

  • This role is open to applicants with the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Please note that we’re unable to offer sponsorship to overseas candidates.
  • The usual working hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)
  • You need to be able to work from home in a comfortable, private environment, with a solid internet connection (a minimum of 10-12 Mbps upload speed).
  • We'll provide you with all the IT equipment you need to get set up before you start with us - so there's no need to supply your own.
  • You would agree to visit our offices in the Brighton & Hove area on or before your first day to collect your IT equipment and attend a ‘Welcome to Crunch’ induction.

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive growth marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Utilise a data-driven approach to identify key growth opportunities, track performance metrics, and optimise marketing campaigns accordingly.
  • Manage and optimise various acquisition channels, including but not limited to CRO, PPC, SEO, email marketing, social media advertising and content marketing.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team to optimise the user experience and conversion funnels.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in the accounting and fintech industries.
  • Lead A/B testing and experimentation initiatives to optimise conversion rates and user engagement metrics.
  • Analyse campaign performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in digital marketing, technology, and industry best practices.
  • Alongside the Marketing Consultant, set individual and team objectives and targets, measure progress and embrace the optimisation of the Hibob system for setting and tracking company and department goals, conducting quarterly reviews and 121’s.
  • Manage people related matters with direct reports, lead daily standups and plan team cover (including freelancer availability) during peak holiday periods to ensure we have sufficient resources to complete agreed tasks.
  • Be the Crunch point of contact for specified Marketing freelancers, in particular supporting them with the prioritisation of work and filtering questions and requests for support from stakeholders.
  • Support the activities of the Sales and Partnerships team and build strong and enduring relationships to generate quality leads, and ensure the teams operate in tandem to achieve and exceed their targets.
  • Ensure that legal and regulatory requirements from a department and company perspective are considered and met at all times, such as adherence to ‘Crunch Essentials’ compliance, to minimise or mitigate any potential commercial or reputational risks to Crunch.
  • Manage departmental budgets as discussed with the Marketing Consultant and agreed with the Founder & CEO and Finance Director, via careful resource allocation to meet our cost management commitments and return on marketing investment.

Role specific qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in management roles within growth marketing, digital marketing, or a related field, preferably in the SaaS technology or fintech sector.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (e.g. Webflow, WordPress), email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Pardot, Campaign Monitor), and social media management tools.
  • Proven track record of driving user acquisition and revenue growth through effective marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights, with experience of using Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager.
  • Accustomed to strategically influencing colleagues up to Director level to shape and promote aspects of the Marketing strategy and guide the growth marketing execution, with a hands on approach and the ability to juggle lots of plates in a fast paced environment.

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the accounting, finance, or fintech industry.
