About Crunch:

Crunch is a multi-award winning Software as a Service (SaaS) company born in the heart of Brighton with a brilliant team of 130, over 17,500 clients and 50,000 Crunch Chorus members. Together, we single-handedly pioneered a complete online accounting solution to empower self-employed contractors, freelancers and micro-businesses in the UK, helping them to grow their business and create the lives they want as part of a powerful community.

We have an exciting new full time, permanent Marketing Communications & Content Executive role in our Marketing team!

About the role:

This role is pivotal in shaping our brand identity, driving engagement, and building meaningful relationships with our audience through compelling content and communications.

The role is customer-centric, creative and detail oriented, with the need for a passion for storytelling, excellent writing skills, and a knack for crafting engaging content across various channels.

Now we no longer have a large office base as we embrace remote-first ways of working. The role offers you the opportunity to work remotely all the time, or a mixture of office and remote working if you would prefer as we have some temporary office space in the Brighton & Hove area.

Please note that this although this is a remote role, you must have the right to live and work in the UK. Unfortunately we can't accept applications from candidates who are based overseas.

About You:

  • This role is open to applicants with the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Please note that we’re unable to offer sponsorship to overseas candidates.
  • The usual working hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)
  • You need to be able to work from home in a comfortable, private environment, with a solid internet connection (a minimum of 10-12 Mbps upload speed).
  • We'll provide you with all the IT equipment you need to get set up before you start with us - so there's no need to supply your own.
  • You would agree to visit our offices in the Brighton & Hove area on or before your first day to collect your IT equipment and attend a ‘Welcome to Crunch’ induction.

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing communications strategies to support brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention initiatives.
  • Create high-quality, engaging content in a variety of formats for various channels including website, blog/SEO articles, social media, email newsletters, press releases, and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and customer success to ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice.
  • Manage the integrated content calendar and editorial schedule to ensure timely delivery of content aligned with marketing campaigns and business objectives.
  • Conduct research to stay abreast of industry trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to inform content strategy and messaging.
  • Optimise content for SEO to drive organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
  • Monitor and analyse content performance metrics to track KPIs, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of PR and media relations activities, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and securing coverage opportunities.
  • Be the Crunch point of contact for specified Marketing and Design freelancers, in particular supporting them with the prioritisation of work and filtering questions and requests for support from stakeholders.
  • Support internal communication efforts to ensure alignment and engagement across Crunch.
  • Embrace the usage of the Hibob system, which is being used by Crunch to complete regular 121 and review conversations, and for setting and tracking company and department Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Role specific qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing communications, content creation, or a related role, preferably in the technology or fintech industry.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and channels.
  • Strong understanding of content marketing principles, SEO best practices, and digital marketing trends.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (e.g., Webflow, WordPress), email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Pardot, Campaign Monitor), and social media management tools.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the accounting, finance, or fintech industry.

What you’ll get in return:

We’re very proud of our collaborative and inclusive working environment - you’ll be working as part of a fun and vibrant team, with a whole host of fantastic company benefits!

These include:

  • A salary within the range of £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.
