Enough’s enough. Here at Crunch, we’ve been putting our heads together to find a way to replace our generic Amazon promotions with something more in line with our ethos of supporting small businesses and self-employed entrepreneurs, just like you. We’re delighted to say we’ve got a solution - Crunch Coins.
We know how convenient a service they can be, but Amazon’s nefarious tax affairs, poor workers' rights, and battering of the UK’s small business community don’t sit right with us at all. We doubt we’ll get too many complaints that we won’t be offering their gift cards and products as signup or referral incentives ever again.
And so, on to the future - the small business revolution!
What are Crunch Coins?
Instead of offering you vouchers to spend with Amazon, Crunch Coins can be exchanged for goods and services from a broad range of small businesses. These can also be paid towards Crunch products, such as our Pro and Premium accountancy services.
What is the value of a Crunch Coin?
One Crunch Coin has an equivalent value of £1 when used to purchase products and services from Crunch or our community of small businesses.
The cash value of one Crunch Coin is £0.01 per coin.
So, let's say you want to order £50 worth of chocolate from a master chocolatier in the Crunch community (and, honestly, who could blame you?) - if you had £30 worth of Crunch Coins, you could spend them all here and pay just £20!
Alternatively, you could elect to use the 50 Crunch Coins to knock £50 off your annual Crunch paid plan bill.
Who currently has Crunch Coins?
300+ Crunch investors who backed us during our recent successful crowdfunding campaign were all issued Crunch Coins, and have outstanding balances they’re looking to spend.
We’ll be running promotions and competitions across the year with Crunch Coins as incentives and prizes.
How are Crunch Coins spent?
Firstly, we’ll send you an email confirming the amount of Crunch Coins you have.
When you find a product or service you’d like to exchange the Coins for (via one of the participating sellers), simply contact the seller and let them know.
Make your purchase, and when the seller processes this, you’ll receive an email from Crunch with your remaining balance of Crunch Coins should the full amount not be used.
How do I get my money from Crunch?
Simply contact finance@crunch.co.uk to confirm the coin quota with the name of the buyer. Once this has been confirmed by us, you can then accept the reduced payment and send an invoice to Crunch.
Crunch will ensure prompt payment of an invoice, sending payment via a virtual credit card.
Where can I spend my Crunch Coins?
We’re adding new businesses to our list and expect the list to grow very quickly - but here are three examples:
Chocadyllic
Say hello to Chocadyllic, an incredible chocolate architect who you may have seen on TV shows such as Extreme Chocolate Makers (Netflix, Channel 4) or The Wonderful World of Chocolate (Channel 5).
Founder Evelyn recently shared her amazing story with us - starting from baking a chocolate cake for a friend (to prove a point that they were better than vanilla sponges!), all the way to running her own business! Now Evelyn produces some of the most jaw-dropping designs out there… and they taste just as incredible as they look!
While some of the more extravagant pieces may not be suitable to send by mail (please enquire to avoid disappointment), Evelyn’s Chocolate Shop is open for business, and your Crunch Coins can buy you such delights as hot chocolate bombs, truffle boxes, and even edible DIY tools and iPhones!
