Our Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to accessibility

Crunch is committed to making our services accessible and usable for everyone. We believe everyone should be able to access and manage their finances with confidence, regardless of ability, technology, or circumstance.

We aim to design and build our products so they are inclusive, clear, and easy to use for the widest possible audience.

Accessibility standards

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2), the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility.

WCAG defines three levels of conformance:

● Level A (basic accessibility requirements)

● Level AA (recommended accessibility standard)

● Level AAA (highest accessibility standard)

Our platform is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards wherever possible, and we aim for Level AAA. Some areas may still be in progress, and we continuously review the platform to improve accessibility.

We believe that we achieve this effectively by following a number of design and development principles and practices, that everyone at Crunch takes pride in and responsibility for.

We also monitor developments in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 3) and evolving accessibility best practices to ensure our platform continues to improve over time.

How we design and build accessible software

Accessibility is embedded throughout our design and development processes.

Design system and component library

We use style guide–driven development and design to ensure accessibility is built into our platform from the ground up. Our design system includes a shared component library where interface components are created and maintained with accessibility in mind.

By building accessible components first, the pages and features that use them inherit those accessibility standards.

Automated accessibility testing

Our design system includes a built-in accessibility checking tool that helps us assess components against WCAG standards.

We also use axe®, an industry-leading accessibility testing engine. Their Web API allows us to automatically scan for accessibility issues within our application. Developers can switch on “ay11” mode to run accessibility checks during development to identify potential violations and understand how to resolve them.

Internal accessibility guidance

We hold internal accessibility guidelines to help our teams design, build and communicate in ways that support accessible and inclusive experiences. These guidelines are used across the whole business, and in particular, design, development, and client communication teams to ensure accessibility best practices are consistently applied at Crunch.

Manual accessibility testing

In addition to automated testing, we conduct periodic manual accessibility testing across the platform. This includes testing with:

● Screen readers

● Keyboard-only navigation

● Different input methods and assistive technologies

We also use accessibility personas to help us evaluate how users with different needs and abilities may experience the platform, ensuring accessibility considerations are reflected in real-world usage scenarios.

Supported browsers and responsive design

Our platform is designed to be accessible across major modern browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari, as well as on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Responsive design ensures that pages and features adapt

seamlessly to different screen sizes and orientations, maintaining accessibility for all users.

Supporting vulnerable users

We recognise that accessibility is closely connected to supporting users in vulnerable situations.

Some users may experience permanent disabilities, while others may face temporary or situational challenges such as illness, bereavement, financial stress, or difficult working environments.

Vulnerable users may include, but not limited to:

● Older adults

● People with visual, cognitive, or motor impairments

● Neurodivergent users

● Clients experiencing temporary life events or financial hardship

To help ensure our teams understand these needs, we have delivered accessibility and vulnerable user training across the company. This helps our teams design, build, and support our products in ways that are more inclusive and considerate of different user circumstances.

Our goal is to ensure our platform provides clear communication, fair design, and supportive user experiences for all users.

Accessibility improvements

We are proud to take accessibility seriously at Crunch and make our software accessible to all. We regularly review and improve accessibility across the Crunch platform. When accessibility issues are identified, they are logged and prioritised within our development cycles so they can be addressed as quickly as possible.

Recent work has included reviewing and updating our colour palette to ensure improved readability and contrast across the interface. These updates help meet WCAG colour contrast requirements and are now inclusive for users with visual impairments, colour blindness, or situational challenges such as screen glare.

Regulatory considerations

Accessibility expectations for digital products continue to evolve globally.

In the UK, the Equality Act 2010 requires organisations providing services to the public to make reasonable adjustments so disabled people are not placed at a disadvantage. While the legislation does not prescribe a specific technical standard, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2) are widely recognised as the benchmark for accessible digital services. We also monitor developments in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 3) and evolving accessibility best practices to ensure our platform continues to improve over time.

As Crunch continues to evolve and grow, we recognise the importance of aligning with emerging accessibility standards and best practices to ensure our platform remains
