At Crunch, tea and biscuits are basically essential infrastructure, so naming our delivery quarters after biscuits just felt right. This one is the Custard Cream. One of Britain’s favourites, and just as dependable in our roadmap as it is in a biscuit tin.
It’s been another busy quarter for the Crunch team. We’ve been focused on making everyday accounting feel faster, simpler, and a bit less “why is this like this?” for our users. Here’s a look at what we’ve shipped recently and what’s coming up next.
What we’ve worked on this quarter
Smarter bank matching with Auto-Match
Auto-Match makes reconciliation faster and more intelligent by working alongside the way you already manage your books. Luca scans your bank transactions and financial entries and brings forward the most likely matches, so you don’t have to manually line everything up yourself.
Instead of checking each entry one by one, you get clear, sensible suggestions ready to review. You stay in full control, with the option to approve individually or in bulk, depending on what suits you in the moment.
It helps keep everything accurate and consistent, while reducing the amount of repetitive checking needed. The result is smoother reconciliation, fewer manual touchpoints, and more confidence that your records are always up to date. This section has already been visited over 19,270 times with more than 8,500 pages of matches approved.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax ready
Our MTD for Income Tax compatible software is now live and already in use. We’ve built it to be practical, reliable, and easy to work with in the real world, not just something that sounds good in theory.
Everything is designed to slot into your existing workflow, so you can stay compliant without adding extra complexity to your day. We’re continuing to refine and improve the experience based on real user feedback, making sure it stays as smooth and useful as Making Tax Digital evolves. The MTD dashboard has already been visited 2,983 times as users start setting things up and exploring the new process.
Smoother upgrades, bulk imports now included
We’ve improved the upgrade experience across Crunch, making it easier than ever to move between packages when your business grows or needs change.
If you’re joining Crunch from another provider, our bulk invoice and expenses importer makes it simple to bring across your business history in minutes. Up to date records without the need for manual entry, so you can get straight to it. Since the launch, over 442 spreadsheets have already been uploaded through the importer.
Invoice improvements
It’s not just bank reconciliation that had an upgrade. You can now format invoice notes with rich text options in Beta, making it easier to add clarity, structure, and a more professional feel when you’re billing clients.
Because sometimes plain text just doesn’t cut it.
Contact us widget
Need help as a Crunch client? Now it’s even easier. We’ve added WhatsApp as a contact option, plus a new Contact Us widget inside your dashboard. Giving you quick access to support whenever you need it. No digging around, just straight to the help you need.
The widget has already been clicked 2,179 times, with customers already using it to get support quickly.
New tax year prep
We’ve made improvements to help you stay compliant without the stress. Whether it’s getting your records in shape or making sure everything is tidy behind the scenes, these updates are designed to help you start the tax year organised, not overwhelmed.
What we’re working on next: Chocolate digestive
Here’s what’s coming up as we move into our next release cycle:
- Auto-Match phase 2: We’re building on one of your favourite features by automatically creating expenses from matched transactions, so you spend less time filling things in.
- Statement currency converter: Making it easier than ever to handle transactions across different currencies.
- Credit notes and refunds in Beta: To make it even easier to keep your invoices up to date.
- And plenty more in the pipeline.
How you can help shape Crunch
Everything we build is driven by real feedback from people using Crunch day-to-day. You can get involved by:
- Voting on feature requests.
- Submitting your own ideas.
- Keeping an eye on roadmap updates.
Your input helps us decide what to build next, and what gets prioritised.
Thanks for being part of Crunch. We’re excited about what’s next, and we’ll be back soon with even more updates in our next biscuit-fuelled release.
